Stick a Fork In A Socket, Do What You'd Like

Are you prepared to be stuck by lightning? It could happen any moment, just keep your eyes peeled. You never know when the shining sun will disappear behind stubborn clouds and roll in a storm. Within seconds your mind will be hazed and you may just be swayed from the path. You never know when that moment will come. Just for the record, I don't mean any of this literally.

But really, you never do know when that moment will come when you realise that your entire life is a self-portrait; a diary. If you ever feel you need to revamp something in your life, don't just consider it. Just do it.

If you're feeling lost, maybe the clouds have already rolled in. Or maybe you think I'm a bit insane to even think that this is right. This is just how my head works, and if you're unaware of this then you'll realise you don't really know me.

This is all irrelevant. Let's just get on with it.

So, here is the new skin for July 2008. I was tempted to use grey and teal as the main colours again this month, but decided to give you a little variety. It's a lot plainer than June's skin, but I like it.

July's skin stars Stefan Olsdal from Placebo. The image used is from a show the band performed in Atlanta, Georgia on the 7th of August 2007 as part of the Projekt Revolution 2007 tour.

I hope you like all it. :]

Ouvre le Loquet de la Grille

June is here, and with it a new skin has arrived. To be honest I couldn't be happier to get out of the dark, and move into the light. The reasons I'll keep to myself, because it is pretty much irrelevant to the forum.

Anyway, here's the new skin for June 2008. The main colours of it this time are grey and teal, which in my opinion is a lot nicer than what we had for May. This month it once again features Brian Molko from Placebo in the banner and in the new/old post icons. The photograph was taken by Benni Valsson in 2006.

Always Knocking On My Door

Scheduled Downtime

Between 10pm and 12am on the 31st of May 2008, the forum will be inaccessible whilst changes are made to the board for the month of June. Next month there will only be a single skin instead of two, but the colour scheme has been kept simple - so hopefully everyone will like it even if you dislike the subject of it. :]

Archive

A new board known as the "Archive" has been added to the forum. You're unable to post on this board, but you can look through it whenever you like.

This Crystal Ball Is Always Cloudy...

It's almost impossible to see through the haze, but alas the fog has cleared. With my crystal ball, I predict that at 4pm on the 10th of May that the mysterious darkness that has obscured the forum will be eradicated.

I'm sorry that the board has been down since mid-February, and there is a reason for it but the excuse is terrible. So I won't even bother going into it.

Anyway, I'm not sure about you lot but without Intermission I've written bugger all. I've managed a grand total of 42,002 words since February first, the majority of them written in the time where the forum was still around. Well, I think at least~

We have two new themes on the forum, and in my opinion none of them are particularly grand because I'm having a creative block at the moment. The first of which is the default, May 2008: Mr. Molko, which was thought of and created in the space of an hour before the big opening. It features Brian Molko of Placebo from their video for Taste in Men.

If you dislike the default skin, there is also a second one available for use which you can use by selecting You versus Disbelief from the drop-down menu in your profile. This skin is a lot simpler and isn't very appealing, but for those of you who like cleaner, more professional looking skins then it should work okay.

I hope to you see you all returning to the forum. :]

Like Soldiers; March On

1. Look afraid.
2. Feeling your heart beat.
3. I don't care if you don't mind.
4. Float along and listen to the song.
5. I'll trick her to fall in from above.
6. Armed with words.
7. This is the nightmare.
8. They're quick, but I'm much faster.

Did you know that I just love anagrams?

So, in the last entry I said that I was contemplating making a new skin for Intermission. Well, yesterday I concluded that I'm going to introduce two new skins. One of them being dark and the other being light. I know that we have some people who lean towards the bright colours on the forum, whilst there are also others like myself who believe in the darkness. So this will give us the best of both worlds... I hope.

The forum is currently in maintenance mode whilst the changes are being made - a date has been set for its completion, but I'm leaving that for you to guess. It's sometime in the immediate future, I can assure you of that.

Whilst Intermission is down I hope you all keep writing. It's sort of a struggle for me at the moment between homework and working on the site, but if I can manage it then so can you.

The more time you spend away from your characters, the more likely you're going to tune out completely. Make sure to visit them everyday so they don't get lonely!

It's You I'm Dreaming Of

Hey there, this isn't really important - but Happy Valentines Day. <3

I'm taking Beth from the forums to Paris for the day, but apart from that I think the day is utterly pointless. I'll be getting in plenty of writing done between caring for twenty-thousand puppies and eating ice cream.

There are no updates for the site yet, but I'm considering making a new skin for Intermission. Something black, white and pink; I'm thinking.

Heh, ignore all the mushy people around you today.

Want to be passionate? Then write. It could be romance, or it could be horror. Write what you want. Just get the words out. It's the best remedy. For anything. In writing, you can do anything. Do it. Whilst everyone around you seeks for another, or mopes around the house - you can be the one pouring your soul into writing. You can be the one producing a masterpiece. <3

Please don't burn it.

You Say You Ain't Pretty...

...not in any place that counts.

Do Forgive Me For Being Rude And Evasive...

Can you hear the sound of houses burning down in the distance? All those manuscripts are being singed and stolen. That's right, a tune of truth passed down through a simple phrase: "Quemadura mi Obra Maestra". Our masterpiece is burning? No, not quite: it's burnt. It's gone. It's over.

Quemadura has gone with the wind. We're making way for a new project, and we're hoping that the Q-Community is going to come with us and help to make CAQ stronger and more alive than before. It's going to take us a while to get it up and running, say... anything from a week to four or five months. Yes, it'll be a while. I'm sorry.

In the mean time you'll have to put up with our new board, currently known simply as intermission, because that is all it is. It's a small break in our everyday viewing when Quemadura lost self-control. Our old host on eAmped died, and we lost all our data. So instead of once more re-vamping Quemadura Mi Obra Maestra (formerly Simzine), we're moving onto the third generation: CAQ. I'll reveal to you at a later date what that means.

[ HINT: there's a clue in the name ]

I hope that you'll all be happy enough to continue working with us as we move on from Quemadura to CAQ, which will be our permanent home when it finally occurs. I promise. I know I said that when we moved to eAmped, but I really didn't expect to experience three lots of downtime and then a server explosion. Sorry.

So we're back on Proboards. I dislike it greatly, but it'll do as a temporary home until we can get CAQ up and running. The full website plus the forum. So stay tuned. I'll keep updates here, so do bookmark this page if you want to stay on the ball.
